EXTREMELY RARE and valuable one-of-a-kind piece. Impressive, large trophy of wood and metal. Highly detailed in Victorian style. Presented to Harry Houdini by Mrs. Houdini on stage at the Temple Theatre in Detroit for breaking all box office records. Houdini had this in his New York brownstone for many years in a trophy case in the foyer. Engraving around the top: "Presented to Harry Houdini for Breaking All Records of Attendance by the Management of Temple Theatre, Detroit, Michigan." Engraving on the body of trophy: "Presented to Harry Houdini by Mrs. Harry Houdini March 14, 1908 for Showmanship. James Stoppard." Provenance: Martinka's Auction, NY. (Houdini also once owned Martinka's)
