EXTREMELY RARE and valuable piece! Yes, even Houdini had a dove pan. It is mostly likely from the period of Houdini's early Dime Museum days. Footed style turn-of-the-century dove pan. (one foot is missing) Very interesting release mechanism is illustrated in the two photos of the lids interior. Turning the finial on the lid disengages the three guillotine-style catches. Provenance: Martinka's Auction. Included with purchase is the letter from Houdini's #1 assistant Jimmy Collins detailing the ownership and how he came into possession of this rare prop from Houdini's own repertoire.
